After 7 years patiently waiting for his forever home, Onyx finally left the shelter today. It was a bittersweet send off as we will miss his excited bark and “bull in the china shop” size personality, but we couldn’t be happier for him. The species that was brought back from extinction 🙌 Scimitar horned-oryx were extinct in the wild for over a decade, but through an international conservation collaboration we successfully restored their species. Through ZSL we contributed vital scientific expertise and on-the-ground support throughout the reintroduction effort.
